English Harbour is an insurance-approved hurricane shelter should the need arise. Nelson’s Dockyard is home to many restaurants and shops. Here is where you will check out through customs and immigration prior to your departure. One of the older, low-lying islands, the 1400-foot-high island is surrounded on the north and east by numerous coral-head reefs. Taxi rides can take you to many of the beaches surrounding the island or help you experience many of the small creeks and inlets that abound Antigua’s shores.

Bucking the trend in the Caribbean Isles, Barbuda remains largely undeveloped...so much so that it can appear completely deserted on occasion.
